Halkirk Utd vs Dingwall Thistle
Halkirk Utd and Dingwall Thistle drew 1-1 today. Halkirk are 2 points ahead, but Dingwall have a game in hand. Halkirk play Fort William and Dingwall have Golspie and Bonar Bridge in the last games of the league season.
Dingwall took the lead after only 5 minutes and Halkirk only equalised with 5 mins to go via a Gavin Henderson header. Halkirk had most of the play, but could not penetrate the Dingwall defence. There was a big crowd for this league deciding match with many travelling from Wick as Wick were away vs Deveronvale (Wick lost 2-1).
Thurso drew 3-3 with Muir of Ord Rovers in Thurso.
Caithness RFC did not have a game today.

website update problem
I'm having trouble updating my website with last weekend's photos. Should be able to get it fixed over the weekend. This photo was used by Chris Noble's clothing sponsor Finisterre (http://www.finisterreuk.com/) for a PR press release after Chris won the Scottish Surfing championship last Sunday.

Scottish Championships Surfing Action
Just a small selection of the surfing action from Sunday. I'm still wading through the many hundreds of pics taken.
The spectacular fall is by Fraserburgh's Marc "Scratch" Cameron, last year's Scottish Champion. The water is very shallow at Thurso East with lots of dangerous rocks just under the water. Marc came away unhurt.

Scottish Surfing Championships prize winners
Thurso's Chris Noble won the Scottish Surfing Championship this afternoon at Thurso East in glorious conditions - big waves and sunshine. The tide was the lowest I have ever seen and it meant I could get really close to the action. The actions pics are of Chris.
Group pics show the winners of the Juniors, Ladies, Seniors (Russell Cruickshank won) and the Open competitions.

Scottish Surfing Championships
The Scottish Surfing Championships are being held at Thurso this weekend. The juniors, ladies & long board finals were completed today, as well as the semi-finals of the seniors. The waves were very poor in comparison to the surf seen in recent weeks.
The final of the seniors and the open competition are being held tomorrow morning at Thurso East.
Caithness RFC vs Highland
Caithness beat Highland 19-10 at Millbank today. A gutsy performance in the local derby from the Greens, who had a handful of regulars missing and around half dozen teenagers in the side. Liam Brims was in fine kicking form with 4 penalties and a conversion. Gary MacKay scored the Greens only try with 5 mins left.
Evan Sutherland won the man of the match award.
Thurso beat Alness Utd 5-2 in the cup semi-final - pics to follow Halkirk drew 2-2 away to Invergordon in the league.
Wick drew 2-2 with Keith in the cup and lost 4-3 on penalties - I missed the game due to staying in Thurso for the Scottish Surfing Championships and the Thurso vs Alness match.
