Thurso vs Invergordon (3-1)

Greg Shearer watches his shot just go over the line for 1st goal

Michael Smith scores 2nd

Graham MacNab scores 3rd

Thurso beat Invergordon 3-1 at Naver all-weather park today, in a league match. It was the only sports game in Caithness. The rain surprisingly stayed away for most of the match, with only a few spots late on.

Greg Shearer opened the scoring for Thurso late in the 1st half, but it was a close call as Paul Sangwin thought he had cleared it off the line. Invergordon scored after 2 mins into the 2nd half and looked the sharper side for the whole of the 2nd half. They had many clear cut chances and Graeme Williamson had some fine saves.

Thurso did not have many chances but took two of them. Michael Smith got the 2nd by slipping the ball past Ian MacKenzie. With Invergordon pressing hard for an equaliser, Graham MacNab scored in the last minute with a cracking drive just inside the box.
