Halkirk vs John O'Groats (4-4)

Halkirk's 4th by Liam MacKay (not in pic)

James Budge scores Groats 4th goal

Halkirk and John O'Groats drew 4-4 at a rain soaked Recreation Park last night. I caught the 2nd half with the score already at 3-2 for Halkirk. Halkirk were 3-0 up. Liam Mackay scored early in the 2nd half to make it 4-2, but JOG pulled one back within 2 mins by a freekick. James Budge scored the 4th mid-way through the half. JOG were well on top, came close a few times and hit the bar late on.

It was the wettest match I have ever covered in 8 years of taking football pics. It rained hard throughout the entire match.

Thurso Acks vs Pentland Utd (0-2)

I caught the last 30 mins of the Acks vs Pentland Utd in the Eain Mackintosh cup match at the Dammies in front of a large crowd. Utd were already 1-0 up. Nigel Mackenzie scored a 2nd in the final minute by chipping over Neal Clark who had just made it back into goal after venturing up for a corner kick.

Graham MacNab scores 1st goal for Wick

Grant MacNab scores 2nd

Grant MacNab celebrates scoring his side's 2nd goal

Grant MacNab's free kick beats Michael Gray at near post

Wick Groats beat Pentland Utd 3-1 at a very wet Ham Park tonight. Nigel Mackenzie scored for United early on, but Graham MacNab scored soon after. Wick hit the post and bar and had two close shots before Grant MacNab slipped the ball through an advancing Michael Gray for the 2nd. Grant's knee slide celebration is the first one I have captured in 8 years of taking football pics!

Grant MacNab scored from a free kick early in the 2nd half to make it 3-1. The last 15 mins saw a flurry of bookings as tempers flared up on both sides.

Greg Macleod presents cup to Alan Sinclair

Wick Groats beat John O'Groats 7-1 in a one sided Colin MacLeod Memorial Cup Final at Castletown. JOG had 6 players missing. Wick scored 3 goals in a 5 minute spell mid-way through the first half to kill off the game. Graham MacNab scored a 4th before James Budge pulled one  back just before half-time.

James Richard let the ball slip through him for a soft 5th goal early in the 2nd half. Sandy Sutherland scored a 6th goal before JOGs Stuart W Sinclair was sent off for two rash fouls in fairly quick succession. Grant MacNab scored with a low drive in the final minute.
