The annual BHS equestrian summer show was held at Northfield, Halkirk, today. Over 100 horses and ponies contested loads of different classes between 9.00am and 5.30pm. The showjumping had to be postponed as the wind kept blowing the poles off the rails. Very windy, but it stayed dry and the sun came out later in the afternoon.

The overall supreme champion was Lisa Kennedy on Stemster Millenium Bug.

Wick Academy beat Fraserburgh 3-0 today at Harmsworth Park. For the first 14 mins it was all Fraserburgh as they attacked by wave after wave of good flowing football. However, Richard MacAdie scored against the run of play in the 14th minute and it was all Academy after that. Gary Weir got taken down in the box after 26 mins and Richard scored the penalty.

Daie Allan broke free and slipped the ball past Paul Leask for the 3rd after 32 mins.

James More had a spectacular save late in the first half to keep it 3-0 at half-time. A long range shot was heading for the postage stamp corner until he got his fingertips to it.

The game petered out in the 2nd half. Broch missed two sitters late on as they pressed the Wick defence. James Pickles had a spectacular long range effort saved by the Broch keeper.

The Scorries remain on top of the league on goal difference and have not conceded a goal after 3 games.

Thurso lost 5-0 to Brora in the North of Scotland cup at a floodlit Morrison Park, Halkirk, tonight. Graeme Williamson had some great saves to keep the score down. Ross Tokley and the Brora defence found Thurso striker Marc MacGregor to be a handful, but keeper Joe Malin was never really troubled.

Zander Sutherland scored after 5 mins and Dale Gillespie scored with a screamer into the top corner on 44 mins. In the 2nd half, Dale Gillespie got the third, Andrew Greig the 4th and Liam Baxter scored in the last minute after intercepting a short back pass and chipping Graeme Williamson.

Brora now entertain Wick Academy in the semi-final.
