Thurso Pentland v FC Retro (0-3)

FC Retro beat Thurso Pentland 3-0 at the Dammies, with all the goals coming in the first half. Retro totally dominated the first half, but Pentlands got back into the game in the 2nd half, but could not score.

Highland Amateur cup - Castletown vs Keiss (6-0)

Castletown played a stormer to beat Keiss 6-0 in the Highland Amateur cup. All the goals were crackers with Jack Fidler's 25 yard screamer into the top left corner, being a contender for goal of the season. It was 5-0 at half-time and Scott Manson scored the only goal early in the 2nd half, just after coming on as sub. Other scorers: Benn Murray, Jack McKechnie, Conner Macintosh & Gavin Henderson.

Gordy MacNab scores the winning penalty

Staxigoe Utd became from behind against Thurso Pentland to win 3-2 in the quarterfinal of the Colin MacLeod Memorial Cup. Gordy MacNab scored a late penalty to win a closely fought game.

Caithness CC 25mile TT

Caithness Cycling Club held their racing weekend with riders from all over Scotland competing. I caught the 25mile Time trial on Saturday, which ran from Thurso to Watten and back, along a very busy A9. Conditions were near perfect, but a slight headwind on the return leg.

Eric Innes, Elgin CC was first with Caithness's Andrew "Hamper" MacLeod a close 2nd. Alasdair Washington, Caithness CC won the veteran's race.
