Caithness Utd U15s vs Clach

Caithness Utd U15s beat their Inverness Clachnacuddin counterparts 4-2 at the Naver all weather pitch yesterday. I arrived late and missed their first two goals and didn't get many action pix as Clach were on top for the time I was there.

It was the coldest match I have attended this year, with a biting wind and wintry showers.

The Sellouts in concert

Local band "The Sellouts" did a great gig at Skinandi's nightclub in Thurso last night. It was the first time I have taken photos in the venue and the lighting set up is pretty good. The band played for nearly 1.5 hours and went down a storm with the large crowd.

The lights give a strong colour cast, hence the conversion to B&W for most pix.

I did a Google search and found that there are two bands with the same name, one in USA and one in Ireland! Potential problems I would think.

Wick Academy vs Brechin City

Wick Academy nearly caused a Scottish cup shock vs Brechin City today. Brechin equalised with 4 mins to go, to snatch a 4-4 draw. It was a cracking cup tie with Wick being the better team overall and they will feel aggrieved at not winning.

They still have a chance to meet SPL opposition in the next round, but they will have to win the replay at Brechin. The photo above and below, show the Brechin players celebrating the 4th goal.

Sam MacKay and David Allan both scored two goals each. David turned the Brechin defence inside out with his lightening speed and won the man of the match award.

Celebrations for Sam MacKay's successful penalty.

David Allan is fouled in the penalty box by the Brechin keeper, Craig Nelson, to win a penalty. The crowd were amazed that the keeper only got booked and not sent off.

Ford RS Focus

This brand new lime green RS Focus caught my eye in Thurso recently and the owner kindly agreed to let me take a few pix. We went to the tall T3UK building at Janetsown and then the Thurso Castle Gate House. Unfortunately, the sun was too bright and caused distracting bright spots on the special paintwork and washed out the colour which is normally a vibrant green. Will try again on an overcast day.

Edinburgh Silhouettes

On the morning after the Scotland vs Fiji match I got up early (6.30am) to catch the sunrise over Edinburgh's Princes St Gardens and Castle. It was not spectacular, but I managed a few silhouettes taken from the church graveyard on the extreme West End of Princes St.
