Scottish surfing championships
The Scottish surfing championships were held yesterday at Thurso East. It was a long day as they started at 9am and finished at 6.30pm. I caught a few heats and the finals of the open and seniors event.
It was grey and overcast for most of the day with the occasional light shower, so not great conditions for photos. The temperature was only 5 degrees and with a stiff north breeze it was baltic all day. Even with 5 layers on, I struggled to keep warm! The waves were OK but not brilliant and there were no barrel waves. Fellow photographers were few and far between.
I did not catch the final results as everyone rushed off to attend the Scottish Surfing Federation AGM at 7pm. The open finalists were; Mark Boyd, Thurso - Chris Noble, Thurso - Marc Cameron, Fraserburgh & Iain Masson (Aberdeen?).
Chris Noble and Marc Cameron also made the final of the seniors event.
