Delight at the final whistle
Kirkwall Thorfinn beat Pentland Utd 2-1 in the Highland Amateur cup semi-final. The match was played at the excellent "Picky" cente in Kirkwall in front of a crowd of around 200. It was my first overseas match! Thorfinn's Kyran Taylor scored after 15 mins and again early in the 2nd half. Ross Allan scored a cracker from the edge of the box with around 15 mins left.
The Thorfinn defence were on top for most of the match and didn't give Utd strikers Geruzel or Murray any room. Utd had only two attempts at the Thorfinn goal in the first half, but came out fighting in the second and could have sneaked an equaliser with two flashing headers the just went wide.
I think the final (between Wick Groats and Thorfinn) is in Inverness at the Tulloch stadium. It is next Sat (10th Aug). I will miss the game as I will be in Dundee on business.
