The annual shinty match between Caithness and Sutherland for the Rev Kenny "Nostie" Macleod memorial cup was played at Viewfirth green today. It was thrilling match with Caithness the eventual winners by 4 goals to 3. The score was nip and tuck throughout the match. It was 3-3 with around 10 mins left and the winner was a cracking strike from a very narrow angle, way out on the right wing.

The game was marred by a nasty injury to one of the Caithness girls, who got whacked full pelt in the knee with a swinging Caman.

The Caithness captain and coach, Alan MacDonald, received the cup from Kenny's widow.
