Halkirk Utd lost 4-1 to Golspie Sutherland at Morrison Park today and this defeat ended their hopes of retaining the league title. Kyle MacLean opened the scoring for Golspie and Alan Larnach hit a 2nd soon after. 2-0 at half-time.
Golspie defender Jordan Sutherland was sent off for 2 yellows early in the 2nd half, but Alan Larnach scored with a free kick 2 mins later to make it 3-0. I then left to attend the Caithness rugby match vs Strathmore. Martin Banks scored for the Anglers.
Thurso beat Lewis and Harris 1-0 in Dingwall in the Q/F of the Jock Mackay cup. Orkney beat Sutherland Utd 2-1 in Dornoch in the league. Wick Academy beat Huntly 4-0.
