Halkirk had a very comfortable win of 5 goals to nil versus Thurso Swifts at the Dammies in the Highland Amateur Cup today. The match started off in hailstorm and ended in brilliant sunshine.
Ian Mackay scored two and Ruari McCartney got a hat trick. It was 2-0 when Swifts hit the post with a header, but that was their only real threat to the Halkirk goal. 3 nil at half-time and Ruari scored 2 in 2nd half. Swifts had a player sent off in the 2nd half for taking a wild kick at a Halkirk player.
