Orkney beat Caithness 5-4 on penalties in the Archer shield at the Dammies. In a close fought game, Sandy Sutherland opened the scoring after a blunder by the Orkney keeper who thought Orkney were awarded a freekick. Sutherland pounced on the free ball and had a simple tap in.
Chris Hellewell equalised from the penalty spot in the 2nd half. Caithness pounded the Orkney goal and hit the woodwork twice, but could not score. James Murray had his penalty saved and everyone else scored, with captain Mark Berry hitting the winning penalty.
