Wick Academy beat Brora Rangers 3-0 in the semi-final of the North of Scotland Cup. Wick now play Nairn County in Inverness on Sat 20th Oct.

In a very one-sided first half, Craig Shearer opened the scoring with a header from a free-kick. Richard MacAdie got the second with a cracking low drive from the edge of the box. The shots continued to fly at the goal, but did not go in.

Orkney's James Pickles got his first goal for the club with a cracking shot from the edge of the box, early in the 2nd half. The game petered out with Brora having a few good chances, but they found Michael Gray in top form.

The Brora fans were few in number, but they made plenty of noise by banging a drum and singing loudly. There was no trouble at the match which had a large crowd. Wick's manager Davie Kirkwood stayed away from the game and cannot officially take charge of Brora until his contract expires on 1st Oct.
