Lybster beat Pentland Utd 5-3 in the final of the Eain Mackintosh Memorial cup final in Halkirk today. A cracking match with good goals and hard tackling. Pentland Utd's defence couldn't cope with the speed and skills of Lybster striker Steven Anderson and fellow striker Alan Larnach., who got 2 goals each. Lybster's right back Nathan Lightley was a constant threat with his blistering runs down the right flank.

Luckasz Geruzel had an early header chalked off for off-side. He scored the first for Utd early in the first half with a well struck low shot. Alan Larnach equalised when he was unmarked in the box. Steven Anderson struck before half-time with a blistering shot at the back post into the roof of the net.

Lybster scored after only 3mins of the restart, I think it was Steven Anderson who scored. Steven Anderson fired in a low cross for Alan Larnach to prod home the ball for the 4th early in the 2nd half. Jonah Martens hit the bar and Steven Anderson blazed over from 12 yards during a period when they totally dominated the game.

Lybster took the foot off the pedal and Luckasz Geruzel scored his 2nd with a header when he was unmarked in the box. Alan Bokas saved a James Murray penalty with around 15 mins left. Shane Kenendy scored with a cracking shot with only 5 mins left. However, Jonah Martens scored in the last minute with a delicate chip over an advancing Michael Gray to make it 5-3.

Right winger Steven Anderson won the man of the match award.
