The UK Pro surf tour Thurso Surf Festival took place at various locations in Caithness from 26-28 Oct 2017. The open competition and U18 boys final took place at Sandside bay in very wet and windy conditions. The Dounreay nuclear establishment made an interesting backdrop. Luke Dillon from Newquay won the open with his fluorescent pink board.
