Halkirk War Memorial

Halkirk's Ross Institute (village hall)

Halkirk's newly repaired riverside path
I took these pics on Sunday 1st July just as the Euro 2012 cup final started. The Ross Institute must be the best village hall in the North of Scotland, both inside and out. The war memorial in front of the Ross Institute is unique in that it features a grieving widow and her child, rather than a soldier. It's theme is Sorrow.

The riverside path was swept away during the great flood in October 2006 and was only reopened in May 2012 after many wrangles as to who was responsible for its repair.
