Highland Amateur Cup - Halkirk v Lochinver (1-4)
Lochinver beat Halkirk 4-1 in the Highland Amateur cup today at Halkirk's Recreation Park. Halkirk had a few missing and Andrew Bremner getting injured during the warm up made matters a lot worse. Michael Bremner scored a penalty after 3 mins, but Lochinver scored two breakaway goals in the first half, the only chances they had. Halkirk had 2 other chances in the half but Dylan MacKenzie saved well.
Halkirk had all the pressure but only really threatened the goal 2 or 3 times. Lochinver scored another breakaway goal mid-way through the 2nd half to knock the stuffing out of Halkirk. Lochinver scored from a corner with a couple of minutes left.
Other scores in the cup;
Merkinch 1-7 Wick Groats
Pentland Utd 2-3 Kirkwall Rovers (aet)
Curry Hoose 1-2 Thurso Acks
Heathmount Loch Ness 2-7 John O' Groats
Stromness Athletic 0-2 Staxigoe Utd

Sounds a bit parochial to me but as a ex Lochinver FC player (thirty years) I guess I would say that. Good luck to Halkirk FC in this and future seasons.
