Pentland Utd lost 4-2 at home to Avoch in the quarter-final of the Highland Amateur cup. Avoch went 1 up with a low shot from Jamie Mackay. Mike Gair then scored a fantastic 30 yard free-kick which went over the wall and crept inside the post with Michael Gray rooted to the spot. 2-0 at half-time.

The Stabbies roared back with two goals early in the second half. Luckasz Geruzel side footed a corner ball into the net and then James Murray scored a penalty to make it 2-2. Avoch defender Martin MacAllister fouled Luckasz Geruzel to get a 2nd yellow and was sent off. Avoch hardly threatened Michael Gray but scored with two break away goals. Shaun Kerr scored the third and I'm unsure who got the 4th near the end.

Wick Groats lost 3-2 away to Carloway.
Iochdar Saints beat Back 3-1.
Muir of Ord beat Kirkwall Hotspur 3-2 aet.

I snapped the first half of the Top Joes vs Francis St Club league match tonight. Derek Munro opened the scoring for TJs early on and FSC hit back with two goals before half-time. TJs scored two before FSC equalised with a controversial penalty with 10 mins left. An offside flag was ignored by ref Liam Bremner and TJs keeper Sean Milligan brought down Shane Honeyman in the box. Adam Higgins scored a late winner for TJs to make it 4-3.

Plenty of good action with chances galore. The bar and post were rattled at least 4 times.
