Pentland Utd beat 10 man Halkirk 4-0 at Ham Park last night in the Highland Amateur cup first round. In the first half Halkirk were the better team with more possession and more chances, but could not score. Lukasz Geruzel played at centre half with John Skinner at sweeper. The Stabs only made two chances and Tony Farquhar stuck one away early in the first half. Halkirk defender Scott Davidson got two bookings for bad tackles and was sent off towards the end of the first half.

Halkirk still looked good early in the 2nd half, but substitute James Murray made a huge difference and scored two goals in 3 mins mid-way through the half. The Stabs piled on the pressure and Michael Bremner stuck his boot out to stop a low cross and the ball ended up in the net for 4-0.
