Caithness beat the Xodus Steelers, a team of ex Scotland stars led by Thurso's Rowen Shepherd, 35-26 today at a sunny Millbank. The thunderous shower that hit Thurso just stopped as the game kicked off and  made the pitch very slippery.

Caithness played some excellent rugby throughout the match, but it was no friendly affair with a player from each side having to go to hospital! The Greens took the lead from very early on and were always in front until mid-way through the 2nd half when the legends took advantage of Caithness having 2 men in the sin bin. Kris Hamilton scored a try with 10 minutes left to seal the tie.

Local youngster Scott Webster got to play 15 mins with the Steelers after his grandfather won an auction for the spot. He played well and didn't seem out of place amongst the legends. Halkirk brothers Peter and Andy Knight also played for the Steelers.

There was a huge crowd at the match.
