Wick Academy beat Halkirk Utd 7-1 in the North Cup last night at Harmswoth Park. Halkirk matched the Highland League side for 30 mins but it was all over at half-time as Wick went 3-0 up. The score was 6-0 before Chris Sutherland pulled one back. Neal Clark saved a Sam MacKay penalty and nearly saved Richard MacAdie's penalty in the 83rd minute.

Halkirk beat Academy this time last year in the same cup, but the Scorries are much better prepared this year and will look to get a flying start against Strathspey Thistle in the first game of the new league season on Saturday.
