Some more images of the sheep shearing competition held at Abedeen & Northern Marts, Quoybrae, Watten. Lots of sweat flying around as well as the wool!
Andrew Sinclair, Newton Hill, Wick, was the top Caithness competitor (2nd in intermediate and 3rd in senior finals) and would take the prize for best tattoos, if there was one.
This sport is one of the more difficult to catch on camera, as the competitor is always facing down away from the light and is twisting and moving all the time. Plus the judges and wool collectors are often blocking the view.
I took pics of all competitors after lunch. I will put a few pics on my gallery and if you are a competitor that is not featured in the gallery, but would like to see a pic of yourself - just let me know.
