Halkirk Utd lost 5-4 to Inverness Clachnacuddin in the North of Scotland cup match at Halkirk's new football ground, Morrison Park. The park was officially opened by Andrew Sinclair who donated over £1.2 million to the village for a sports complex. The football park is phase one of the project.

Halkirk opened the scoring with a Benn Murray header, but Clach hit back with two headers. The Clach centre half got sent off for downing Grant Macnab when he was clean through and Gordie MacNab scored from the free kick. 2-2 at half-time.

The floodlights were switched on for the 2nd half and Grant MacNab scored a third early in the 2nd half when the keeper hit a clearance kick against him and Grant had a simple tap in. Clach then equalised soon after with a cracking drive. Halkirk then threw the game away with two bad own goals in the space of 5 mins. Alan Hughes scored with a great low drive in the 90th minute.
