Halkirk lost to Muir of Ord Rovers in the quarter final of the North Caledonian cup today. It was 1-1 at full time and Rovers scored near the end of the first half of extra time to clinch the tie. Halkirk had loads of chances but could not score. Alan Hughes ran riot down the right wing and was firing in great crosses all afternoon but all the resulting headers missed the target. Martin Banks had a goal chalked off for offside which many thought was harsh.

Rovers scored the first goal in the second half with a long range effort that went in off the bar. Gordie MacNab equalised by smashing a volley from a cracking low cross by Chris Sutherland. Eddy Fuller scored the winner by sweeping past 3 defenders and firing a great shot past Daniel Budge.

Thurso had no game. Wick Academy lost 4-2 away to Turriff in the Scottish Cup. Caithness RFC lost 22-24 away to Ellon.
